Fire Rated Air Valve Ø 150 mm

Cat. No. FV1260

The Fire Rated Air Valve is a ceiling‑mounted terminal designed to maintain the fire resistance of floor and ceiling constructions where ventilation outlets are required. The valve incorporates an integral intumescent element that expands rapidly in a fire, sealing the opening and helping to prevent fire and heat from passing through the ceiling. It installs in the same way as a standard air valve and requires no additional components or specialist fixings, making it suitable for domestic properties, apartments, hotels and other multi‑occupancy buildings where fire‑rated ceilings are present.

Technical Details
The valve is constructed with an intumescent body housed within a standard ceiling air valve assembly. It is suitable for installation in solid timber joist floors, metal web joist floors and timber I‑beam floors. The product has been tested to BS EN 1365‑2 in full‑scale loaded floor conditions and is available in 100 mm, 125 mm and 150 mm sizes. The unit requires no maintenance beyond routine cleaning of the valve face and is designed for long‑term durability, with low smoke, zero‑halogen materials and a Type X rating for environmental resistance during storage and transport.

Fire Performance
The Fire Rated Air Valve achieves fire classifications of 30 or 60 minutes depending on the supporting floor construction. Under fire exposure, the intumescent material expands to close the valve opening and help maintain the fire resistance of the ceiling. The product has been tested in solid timber joist floors, metal web joist floors and I‑beam joist floors under loaded conditions, confirming its suitability for a wide range of residential and commercial applications.
